Corrective Exercise & Post-Rehab

Fix the imbalances behind nagging pain — posture, desk-neck, cranky backs — and bridge the gap after physical therapy.

In short

Corrective exercise at NYCPT identifies movement dysfunctions and muscular imbalances — such as upper cross syndrome, desk posture and scoliosis-related asymmetry — and retrains them with targeted exercise. It's also the bridge between finishing physical therapy and returning to full training.

Pain usually isn't random. Hours at a desk, an old injury you compensated around, or one side doing more than its share — over time these patterns pull you out of alignment and something starts to complain.

Corrective exercise starts by finding the pattern. We assess posture and movement, then use targeted strengthening, mobility and motor-control work to restore balance, so you can stand taller, move easier and train without flare-ups.

Finished physical therapy but not ready for a regular gym? Post-rehab training picks up where PT leaves off, progressing you safely back to full strength.

FAQ

Corrective Exercise & Post-Rehab: questions

Is corrective exercise the same as physical therapy?

No. Physical therapists diagnose and treat injuries. Corrective exercise specialists retrain movement and strength — often after PT, or alongside it with your therapist's blessing.

How long until I notice a difference?

Most people feel better posture and less stiffness within a few weeks of consistent training. Lasting change takes a few months.
